About
The FiveThreeSix was started in March of 2010. In June of 2010, we were chosen by Lollapalooza and C3 as one of the Top Chicago Music Blogs. I don’t want to say that we’ll ride on that honor for the rest of our lives, but we’ve definitely considered it.
We’ve been called “fresh”, “innovative”, “honest”, “hilarious”, and “the best thing on the internet” by parents, old college roommates and male stalkers alike.
Are we the best music site in existence? Probably, but let’s keep things objective, folks.
Who We Are:
Bridie finds love in music and politics above all. She’s still waiting for the day when she can find the career that seamlessly combines the two. She responds to iced tea like speed and will buy anything she can find that comes in mustard yellow. She is ecstatic about the scientific development that is Coconut M&M’s and frequently sends hate mail to MARS when she cannot find them in stores.
Her perfect band is Bloc Party.
Nora has an incredibly awkward sense of humor, dresses in all black, and wakes up every day wishing she could be in a band but has no musical talents. Nine well-established groups have turned down her offer to play tambourine. She’s an aspiring screenwriter, a career never pursued by a blogger before. Nora was the only person watching the San Francisco Giants in the sports tent at Bonnaroo last year. They won.
Her perfect band is The Dead Weather.
Both Bridie and Nora enjoy making fun of hipsters, don’t understand Joanna Newson, and do a pretty impressive Indian accent. You’re going to love us.
